Alfred E. Smith Campaign buttons were produced in 1928. Smith was the 42nd governor of New York from January 1, 1923 – December 31, 1928.
Alfred E. Smith Buttons are very collectible because of the variety of pins, lapels, and campaign buttons. Some of the buttons are very rare and some are very popular. Smith was the Democratic presidential candidate in 1928. The republicans were benefiting from the three P’s: “Prohibition, Prejudice, and Prosperity” when Smith lost the election to Herbert Hoover.
