Herbert Hoover was proceeded by Calvin Coolidge and succeeded by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Before Hoover became the 31st President of the United States from 1923 to 1933, he was a successful businessman and humanitarian.

Born to a Quaker family, Herbert Hoover grew up in Oregon and held the presidency during the onset of the Great Depression. A variety of campaign buttons were produced throughout his term. During his tenure, he was remembered for the relief in Belgium, he served as the director of the U.S. Food Administration, and also served as the third U.S. secretary of commerce.
